Sales Representative / Manager

We are seeking a Sales Representative/Manager to handle sales of trash and recycling services. Area of coverage are parts of Beaver, Butler and Allegheny Counties.

Pay starting at $865.38 per week base, plus commission and mileage reimbursement options!

Candidate Will:

  • Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of services and pricing structure
  • Develop knowledge of route structure
  • Determine customer needs and propose appropriate services for their needs
  • Conduct cold calls and prospecting activities to get a foot in the door
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations to decision-makers
  • Propose customer solutions that are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Secure customer signatures on contracts
  • Turn in customer changes, new starts/stops paperwork in a timely manner
  • Make an occasional call on past-due balances to obtain payment
  • Handle customer complaints that cannot be resolved at the call-in level / find resolution between customer and our company
  • Manage inventory of dumpsters to meet customer requirements – order new dumpsters when needed; have decent ones repaired
  • Coordinate with drivers to determine if a customer fits into their route schedule
  • Handle all sub-contractor issues

Candidate Should:

  • Have good time-management skills
  • Have presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Be able to communicate in a professional manner – both verbally and in writing
  • Have strong listening skills/grasp concepts easily so that he/she can interact with customers and co-workers

Qualifications:

  • Previous cold-calling experience is great
  • Previous sales experience
  • Waste industry knowledge is a plus
  • Able to drive / good driving record

Requirements:

  • Have a valid Driver’s License and good driving record
  • Have own car; Brunner will reimburse for mileage
  • Maintain car insurance / provide proof of insurance

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment and traveling to & from businesses
  • Prolonged time spent in vehicle

Work Attire:

  • Casual to business dress depending on the audience

Base Pay: $865.38 per week

Mileage Reimbursement: 2023 IRS mileage rate is $0.65.5/mile

Commission Structure:

  • 12-Month Contract – 50% of one month’s services or about 4.17% of total contract value
  • 24-Month Contract – 65% of one month’s contract or about 2.71% of total contract value
  • 36-Month Contract – 75&% of one month’s contract or about 2.08% of total contract value
  • Compactor Equipment Sales – as determined by sales rep; usually around 18%
  • Commission applies to upgrade in services
  • Bad Account – return of commission when a new account cancels or is a no pay

Benefits:

  • Retirement – 401K / Profit Share Plan – employee enrolled at 6% withholding for 401K, but can change this percentage. We do not match it. We contribute money to the Profit Share Plan on a yearly basis.
  • Health insurance after 3 months – through UPMC – we cover the employee and their deductible; employee covers the premium for spouse/children
  • Dental Insurance – offered but employee covers the monthly premium (currently $40/month for an employee)
  • Life Insurance – after 6 months - $25,000 life insurance policy and accidental death and dismemberment policy. Note: at the age of 65 the amount decreases as the employee gets older due to social security issues.
  • Short-Term Disability – after 6 months – short-term disability policy which will cover 70% of employees pay up to $1,000/week for 6 months. Note: this amount can change at the age of 65 due to social security conflicts
